Style With out Breaking The Bank
As you are reading this you most likely have a image of me in your mind of a frumpy lady with 80’s clothes and sponge rollers in my hair. Not so. I love fashion. I just get better deals than most people. My secret is to buy ahead off season and my favorite places are thrift stores, yard sales, outlet stores and Wally World. I keep a wish list of things that our family needs with me in my purse. The most I will pay for a item is $6.00. That is my limit. My last trip to Wally World I was on the search for some sleep wear for myself and daughter. I saw some for $18.00. For one pair of pj’s! That was a bit out of my league so I hit my favorite clearance section. I saw some knit tank tops and shorts ranging $1.00 to $3.00 each. I was able to get 9 items for about $13.00. Not only was I able to purchase something to wear to bed, but this will put me ahead for the spring and summer items that I was also needing. Two items were too large but I know how to take them in at the waist!
For our 4 year old I was able to get a swim suit and her sleepwear. The swimsuit was a $1.00 and a size larger. She grows so fast that it will fit her in the summer. Swim wear and sleepwear are not cheep I might add. As for her sleepwear, you will love this! She is 4 let me remind you, I found a girls size 14 cotton baby doll tank top and tied it up at the shoulders. It was so cute! And for $1.00!
I have a favorite thrift store that sells their clothing for $5.00 a trash bag. Yes a trash bag! The large black leaf trash bags. I can come home with nice brand name clothing for $.01-.05 a item! Some times I am in need for just a few items but I am able to resell them at our yard sale for $1.00 a item. What a huge profit. Sometimes they need a new button or to be washed or ironed.
So many books and websites tell you how to store and hide your clutter but not how to get rid of it......this weekend I kicked the closet clutter for good. This is how I got rid of half of the clothes in my closet.
I have all my clothes hanging up in my closet and all my small items like socks and underwear in a very small dresser in the closet. If you store winter sweaters in bins you are not going to ALL of what have.
Try on and Hang up your clothes by OUTFITS so you know what looks good/matches together. This will save you time when you are in a rush to go somewhere. You can have a friend help you with this or the hubster can help!
Everything that does not fit, has holes, stains or you are not sure of just box it up. You can save it for a yardsale, ebay or donate it!
Clothes for the middle aged women.
