STAIN FIGHTER

*Equal parts Dawn dish soap, vinegar, and water  works well for grass stains. Better than any other stain remover I've ever bought.

* Try the dawn and hot vinegar solution  in your shower. I left it for several hours and it was amazing, my shower sparkled like new.
(I need to try this solution on some of my kids clothes! )

* I think what works is mostly the peroxide, not the dawn liquid. I've tried a paste of peroxide + baking soda and it also gets tough stains out, but you have to be careful with this things because peroxide is tough on most fabrics.

ALL Purpose Cleaner

  • 2 cups white distilled vinegar
  • 2 cups water
  • 20-30 or more drops of essential oil (optional)
Suggested uses: hard surfaces like countertops and kitchen floors, windows and mirrors.
Tip: Warming in microwave until barely hot will boost cleaning power for tough jobs. Only microwave in a glass container.

Furniture Polish

 Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup white distilled vinegar
  • 20-30 drops lemon essential oil
Shake well before using
(2 teaspoons lemon juice may be substituted for lemon oil but then must be stored in refrigerator)

Toilet Bowl Cleaner

Sprinkle toilet bowl with baking soda, drizzle with vinegar, let soak for at least 30 minutes and scrub with toilet brush.

Drain Cleaner/Unclog

Slow-running drains? Keep bathroom drains running freely by pouring 1/2 to 3/4 cup baking soda into the drain, and dribbling just enough hot water to wash the solution down. Let stand for 2 hours to overnight, then flush thoroughly with hot water. The deodorizing effect is an added bonus! [Do not use this method on blocked drains.]

Homemade Glass Cleaner Recipe

Mix in a sprayer bottle:
  • 1 cup rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
OR better yet wash your bathroom mirror right after a steamy shower with a microfiber cloth and you will not need to use any cleaner!
